Transfers & perspective💜 9/21/20

Hey everyone!

This week seriously flew by. The last week of the transfer usually does! In the spirit of transfer news..... I'm staying in Yuma! Sister Corn and I will be together. My trainee Sister Larson is getting transferred to Chandler, she is so excited!

We were able to do so much service this week! We get 10 hours total and we did 9! All of that consisting of food bank service, digging up bushes and trees, packing, and pulling weeds. I have found such a real love for service. So it's safe to say it was a great week!
I have had some super awesome studies that have really opened my mind. It's so funny how often I'll read something that logistically I already knew, but it just clicked. This week it was from the Lords response to Joseph Smith when he was in the middle of his trial at liberty jail in D&C 121:7 ... "My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment."
This scripture is a very popular one. But something different stuck out this week. Not just that our afflictions will be but a small moment. Not just that we need to have more of an eternal perspective. Those lessons are important, but what I learned is truly how aware God is of us. Comparatively our afflictions might not seem as monumental, but that doesn't matter to God. He recognizes our trials. He isnt ignorant of our struggles. He knows that we sometimes suffer. Sometimes he allows that to happen in order for us to grow. There's a phrase in the scriptures when Alma the prophet is trying to explain why the Lord allows bad things to happen sometimes at the hand of others, he says "and he doth suffer that they may do this thing". Suffer means to allow, but in the context of the other scripture I do also believe that the Lord truly does suffer when bad things or trials happen, because we suffer. He knows, and no matter how alone we feel in our trials, we aren't. His grace allows Him to be there through every moment of our life.
I love you all so much!
