Rocks☄ 8/17/20

Hi friends and family! 

I hope you all have had a wonderful week! Already halfway through August which is crazy I didn't even process school is starting again! We just finally got connected with our youth and have an activity tomorrow. But they are all already back in school and have been for a few weeks. Arizona starts school super early. I hope for any of y'all starting school again that it all goes smoothly!
We had a crazy week moving houses and getting our new companion. But she arrived safely (she actually came out the same day as me and is from Idaho!) and we are all settled in(: We got to go to an abandoned mine in California this morning and go cave exploring  I may have almost gotten stuck but all is well(: Pictures to come! 
This week I have been reading this AMAZING book called "Christ and the New Covenant" and holy cow it is so good! It is written by Elder Holland and if you love his talks you'll definitely love this book! Anyways the part I read this week that stuck out was talking about the story of the Brother of Jared. Now, I never put much thought into this story, but he breaks it down and dang there is so much to learn! In the story of the Brother of Jared, the Lord guides him to build these incredible barges that will transport the Jaredites across the ocean. He leads him through the process of everything they will need until he asks the Lord, how will we have light? The Lord responds asking him what the Brother of Jared will have Him do. The significance of this is what he ended up bringing to the Lord, rocks. This is what Elder Holland says about it, "Here, standing next to the Lords magnificent handiwork... the brother of Jared offered for his contribution rocks... it was a moment of genuine humility." Sometimes all I feel like I have to offer is rocks, or in other words, nothing very miraculous. But the Lord didn't ask or expect that from him. The brother of Jared brought all he had, then the Lord provided the miracle and through that miracle the Brother of Jared was able to witness Jesus Christ and the complete expansion of his testimony. Give all you have, and I promise the miracle will come.❤

PS.. Sister Corn and I hit our year mark this Friday!! Crazy! 
Also our apartment was at 77 and coming in from 120 degrees we were freezing... so we got blankets and sweatshirts😂

"Testify Before Turned Down" 9/30/19

Hello friends and family! It has been such an amazing week full of crazy stories and cool experiences. I definitely can't share them all because this email would be WAY too long but here are a few! We had zone conference this week and they talked all about how important it is to remember your purpose. Teach off your purpose. Don't become stagnant. And to learn how to stand independent. It was such a good refresher and boost for the start of the week. Wednesday we had exchanges so I was out with the Hermanas in Guadalupe all day! I realized very quickly my 5 years of Spanish I understood 60-70% of everything that was said that day but could do little communicating back. So I learned how to pray in Spanish and have started to read the Book of Mormon in Spanish! I've also already memorized the missionary purpose and first vision. Also may have emailed President how much I loved learning and teaching in Spanish... so we will see where that goes!  Si...

1st Email from the MTC - 8/27/19

Hello Friends and Family! What a crazy ride it has already been! The MTC is honestly heaven. It is crazy, busy, exciting, and unpredictable. The days are so long but are filled with learning so much about teaching and building our testimonies of Jesus Christ. I can't even express how much my testimony has already grown. The spirit here is indescribable. You really can't help but feel it in every lesson, workshop, and just walking the grounds.  My companion is Sister Wright and she is just AMAZING. We get along so well. She is from Pocatello, Idaho and is going to be serving in Edmonton, Canada! It's crazy how our district is set up. All six Elders are serving in Seattle, 4 sisters are in Detroit, 3 of us are heading to Tempe, and Sister Wright to Canada. But today after our temple visit we found 6 more sisters serving with her so she knows who she'll be heading into the mission field with.
