Reverse tracting...?🤸🏽♀️ 8/10/20
Hi everyone!!
Well just a week later and holy cow everything is changing up! We have transfers this week and because I have been first half training into a pink wash I didn't think anything was going to change. Well, the zone leaders called and said, "Oh Sisters you're staying the same, except there is few changes." I have been called to be a Sister training leader as well as continuing to be Sister Larson's trainer, we are getting a third companion, Sister Corn, who actually is from Middleton, Idaho and came out with me, and we are moving houses so we have to pack up today!! CRAZY. It will be an adventure, but what is SO exciting is I will be co-STL's with Sister Miner and we'll be living together!! So fun we get to be back together!
Other than that we had a lot of awesome service this week, actually added up to 8 hours of service! It was so great! Kept us really busy but also got us to be really connected with the ward. We also actually got tracted into this week by a member of another church here in Yuma. It was a weird experience but cool for Sister Larson and Sister Mabey who are in training. We tried being super polite but he started getting a little in our face when he found out we were missionaries and then told us we weren't going to heaven. We told him to have a nice day and shut the door after that(: Made for a good story in the journal!
As for a spiritual thought I studied a lot about grace and mercy this week. I actually love this topic so much! Grace is something i have honestly never understood. There are two talks I highly recommend, "The Gift of Grace" by Elder Uchtdorf and "His Grace is Sufficient" by Brad Wilcox. A really common question we get as missionaries is "do you believe you're saved by grace?". YES. We absolutely are! Thank goodness we are! But, as Brad Wilcox then goes to point out, are we also changed by grace? Elder Uchtdorf mentions two aspects to grace... the sacrifice of our Savior unlocks the gate to Heaven, but through our obedience we open the windows of Heaven. The gate is unlocked, but how are we, through our daily study, prayer, recognition of weakness and shortcomings, allowing grace to change us? To mold us? To bring us closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ? This is my topic of study for this transfer. So excited!
Love you all SO MUCH!
