perspective💛 4/13/20
Hey everyone!
What a week. It has been packed full of changes, miracles, and new memories. Quarantine life has been super different, but I have actually learned so much from it. I continue to be overwhelmed with perspective that in turn strengthens my faith and testimony in God's plan.
We were put in a trio and oh my gosh we LOVE Sister Dorsey!! She is so sweet. We all get along so well and have become such great friends so quickly. Sadly though, and due to some health concerns/COVID19, she is actually going to be heading home this week :( I am so grateful for the awesome times we have already had. As hard as it was for us to all take the news, we all felt assurance from the spirit that this is what needs to happen.
With extra study time I have been in depth reading the Bible next to the institute manual. My mind has been enlightened with studying Romans and 1st and 2nd Corinthians. I have also found quickly that Paul has a definite theme. Here is an example..
Romans 8:18
"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."
2nd Corinthians 4:17
"For our light affliction, which is for but a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory."
Here is a quote from "More than Conquerors through Him that Loved us" by Paul V. Johnson
"It is interesting that Paul uses the term ‘light affliction.’ This comes from a person who was beaten, stoned, shipwrecked, imprisoned, and who experienced many other trials. I doubt many of us would label our afflictions light. Yet in comparison to the blessings and growth we ultimately receive, both in this life and in eternity, our afflictions truly are light."
I recognize that the theme of my emails have also been consistent, but this is what God has been teaching me these last few weeks. He continues to reiterate this lesson and I know it isn't a coincidence. Anytime I have thought negatively about the situation, God has quickly reminded me of this principle. God has a plan! Not only does He have a plan, but if we seek comfort and answers, He will provide them. Not always in the way we hope, but answers nonetheless. When we were first quarantined, the answers I was looking for were comfort and understanding, not necessarily stop complaining and get some perspective. But I have had my testimony strengthened and I know this will all work out for my, and everyone's good.(:
Love you all!!
