More Than Conquerers🌵 4/27/20
Hello everyone!!
What a crazy week! We've officially hit the start of warm weather. Every day now hits 100+ and the low is no longer cool. So here we go to my blood boiling for the next 6 months😂 It'll be fun though! I'm excited to experience an Arizona summer, got to try it at least once right?
We had so many miracles this week! Specifically last night. We planned our day early in the morning and felt really great about the contacts we had put in. Annndddd, no one answered. Not a single person! We tried a few more, one person answered. Now, those who have served missions probably know exactly what I am talking about. But, diligence and obedience brings miracles. I continue to learn that. We sat, rethought our plan, and started up again and before we knew it we had a lesson with a less active member, a response from a super elect 16 year old girl that sought us out, and 3 scheduled lessons with 3 former investigators. MIRACLES.😊
My studies this week have also been SO good. Each day I've learned so many things that have strengthened my testimony of Jesus Christ. A lot of it came from a talk called "Teaching, Preaching, Healing" by Elder Holland. (Classic, I know!) It isn't a conference talk it is from the Jan 2003 Ensign. But there is a quote that brought me SO much perspective.
"As a reminder of those days, Jesus has chosen, even in a resurrected, otherwise perfected body, to retain for the benefit of His disciples the wounds in His hands and in His feet and in His side—signs, if you will, that painful things happen even to the pure and the perfect; signs, if you will, that pain in this world is not evidence that God doesn’t love you; signs, if you will, that problems pass and happiness can be ours."
We know the famous scriptures John 3:16 , God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, or Romans 8:32, He that spared not His own Son. We know God loves us. But we also know God LOVES Jesus Christ. So now look at these signs as Elder Holland says, His hands and His feet and His side. Jesus Christ suffered pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind, yet God loves Him. So why would we ever think our suffering, our pain, our trials would be even the slightest indication that God doesn't love us? He does! So much so that He spared not His only Begotten, perfect Son so that we can be, through Him "more that conquerors" in all things.
Love you guys!!💛
