Making room❤ 12/14/20

Hello everyone!

Holy cow what an insane last few weeks! Sorry for not emailing last week! Last Monday got so insane and I didn't end up having time to email anyone! But, I am doing great..(: 
Today is transfer news and.... I'm staying!! But Sister Packer is going to Chandler...): She's going to do so good though! 
I am really excited for this next transfer. Not only is it exciting that its CHRISTMAS, but I have a lot of ideas to continue help build unity with the Sisters! Planning on secret santa, weekly lunches, and emotional resilience classes. I am honestly so grateful for the calling I have as an STL, it really has helped me to think outside of myself which is hard because it's so often the default. But these Sisters are incredible and I have learned so much from them! 
This week we introduced our zone focus, The Spirit of Christ. Each week we are breaking down a verse from the Nativity, focusing on the principle, and applying to missionary work. This last week was Luke 2:7, the phrase about there being no room in the inn specifically. From more research we now know what it was truly like with inns. Mary and Joseph weren't walking around knocking and getting rejected, there simply was just no room. They were in the inn, but room wasn't made for them. As a missionary and member of the church, I don't reject Christ and I imagine all of y'all don't either. But are we truly making room for Him in our days? Are we truly setting aside room for Him and remembering the covenants we made to always remember Him? As a missionary am I allowing room for Him in my studies, in my lessons, in everything and if not, what can I do to change that? That's the question I'll extend to all of you, what can you do to better make room for the Savior? How can you ensure that not only is He welcomed in the inn or in y'alls hearts, but that there is room for Him to teach, to guide, and to extend mercy and grace which we all so desperately need in order to fully embrace the true joy of the gospel.

"Testify Before Turned Down" 9/30/19

Hello friends and family! It has been such an amazing week full of crazy stories and cool experiences. I definitely can't share them all because this email would be WAY too long but here are a few! We had zone conference this week and they talked all about how important it is to remember your purpose. Teach off your purpose. Don't become stagnant. And to learn how to stand independent. It was such a good refresher and boost for the start of the week. Wednesday we had exchanges so I was out with the Hermanas in Guadalupe all day! I realized very quickly my 5 years of Spanish I understood 60-70% of everything that was said that day but could do little communicating back. So I learned how to pray in Spanish and have started to read the Book of Mormon in Spanish! I've also already memorized the missionary purpose and first vision. Also may have emailed President how much I loved learning and teaching in Spanish... so we will see where that goes!  Si...

1st Email from the MTC - 8/27/19

Hello Friends and Family! What a crazy ride it has already been! The MTC is honestly heaven. It is crazy, busy, exciting, and unpredictable. The days are so long but are filled with learning so much about teaching and building our testimonies of Jesus Christ. I can't even express how much my testimony has already grown. The spirit here is indescribable. You really can't help but feel it in every lesson, workshop, and just walking the grounds.  My companion is Sister Wright and she is just AMAZING. We get along so well. She is from Pocatello, Idaho and is going to be serving in Edmonton, Canada! It's crazy how our district is set up. All six Elders are serving in Seattle, 4 sisters are in Detroit, 3 of us are heading to Tempe, and Sister Wright to Canada. But today after our temple visit we found 6 more sisters serving with her so she knows who she'll be heading into the mission field with.
