Happy Thanksgiving!ππ 11/23/20
Hello everyone!!
Oh my gosh this week was seriously so so amazing! I know that I said that last week, but there were so many miracles. There were definitely a lot of hard things too, but I've said it before, there is so much beauty in opposition.
First, did you all see President Nelson's message on Friday? If you haven't watched it, PLEASE do! I love our Prophet so much. It has been so amazing to see Facebook blow up with gratitude. There truly is so much to be grateful for. I have had so much fun picking out pictures for a post each day to follow the counsel of our Prophet and make my Facebook a gratitude journal. Watch it!!
Then, sadly our zone got hit HARD with COVID. Our Assistants and zone leaders for sure tested positive and because of that our zone (minus the Sisters) are quarantined. It was super sad for the Elders, but the work continues. One companionship put someone on date for baptism, new people to teach were found, and we were able to represent the Elders on Sunday for a baptism in their ward! I'll attach pictures. Prayers for the Tempe zone would be appreciated!
Outside of the other baptism, I got to attend and speak at the baptism for someone I taught in Phoenix. That was the most special experience to watch him get baptized. The spirit was SO strong and honestly I just couldn't stop crying. The joy I felt last night is exactly why I am out on a mission. That feeling was literal joy. After feeling that, how could you not know the gospel is true? Man, it was incredible!
This church is true. God loves us SO much. I am studying this transfer about love and mercy and my understanding of this has grown so much the last few weeks. There is a quote from a book I'm reading called 'Understanding your Divine Nature'. It says, 'Seeing our weaknesses turned into strengths helps us to comprehend the love and mercy of Heavenly Father'. What a blessing weakness can be. To recognize our weakness, to make the decision to start the process of applying the Savior's grace, that is what will help us comprehend the love and mercy of God. I am so lucky to have such a loving and merciful Father in Heaven. I know I need all the mercy I can get.(:
I love you all so much!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!π❤π§‘
