Gratitude and progress🌺 6/8/20
Hi everyone!
What. A. Crazy. Week.
It has been full! &like I mean full at every capacity. We gave 3 trainings this week. One in Zone Council (20 missionaries) one in Zone conference (60-70 missionaries) and one for the mission call (200 missionaries). All on three topics and all we have between a few hours and few days to prepare. We also were able to teach 22 lessons this week, find a new person that was interested in taking the lessons, do service for a few members, got 1st place in a mission Kahoots game, and have 2 other mission devotionals. It was crazy! But also just amazing. So many miracles❤
One of our trainings this week was about how to find joy in the work. We have heard so many trainings on this so we really struggled knowing what direction we should go. But, it clicked when I was reading in Ether this week! There are two examples from the scriptures I'll draw from and then I'll tie it back together(:
1st Nephi 18:12-16 -
The family of Lehi was on their journey to the promised land when Laman and Lemuel tied Nephi up. The moment they did a fierce wind came and blew them backwards for 4 days. It wasn't until they untied Nephi and Nephi falling down and giving his thanks to God regardless of what he had just endured that the wind stopped and took them to their destination.
Ether 6:8-12 -
The people of Jared were ALSO on a journey to the promised land in what I think MUCH harder circumstances. They were in the ultimate quarantine for 344 days. The wind didn't cease to blow and they didn't cease to praise and thank God for blessing them and keeping them safe.
We are all journeying to a promised land. But where is our focus and direction? Are we like part of Lehi's family and look back and lose all sense to remember God and thus inhibit our progress? Or do we recognize the blessings God is giving us regardless of our circumstances and find ways to feel and experience joy, to praise God and show our gratitude?
We need to ALWAYS be grateful. God is always blessing us. He is always watching over us. If we really look, we will be amazed by how much love and guidance God is pouring on us each day.
I love you all!❤
