Baptism!๐Ÿ’™ 7/13/20

 Hi everyone!!

I hope you all have had an amazing week. I has gotten to scorching weather here so I have been counting my blessings of being inside. Yesterday got up to 117 degrees in Yuma. We went outside for 5 minutes to get our mail and i felt like I was getting a sunburn.. We took a picture to say we actually went outside then we ran right back inside. We've established it is either an oven or a blow-dryer here depending on if the wind is blowing. Hopefully we'll get some sandstorms or monsoons soon!
So good news.... we had a baptism this week!! It was such a special day! I'm not able to send photos because the boy that was baptized is a foster child in the process of adoption so we can't send out any photos but it was an amazing day. They asked that I be one of the witnesses and it was so cool. Honestly being able to be there when someone you've taught receive the gift of the Holy Ghost is by far the most spiritual moments I have had on the mission. It is the most special moment.
For my spiritual thought this week I'll pull from my study of Jesus the Christ. It talks about the story of Christ in Simon the Pharisee's home and the parable he teaches explaining forgiveness and love. He asks Simon if a certain creditor forgave two debtors, one owing 500 pence and one owing 50, who will love him most? Simon says the one who was forgiven more. Christ goes to explain that to whom who has many sins and is forgiven, the same loveth more, but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
Take this into the perspective of weaknesses  and the ultimate attribute of charity. The closer we get to Christ the more we will be aware of our weaknesses. The more we are aware of our weaknesses the more we will need access to the atonement in our lives. The more we seek out forgiveness and strength, the greater capacity we will have to love others. If truly we need to develop the ability to love, then we need to be aware of our weakness to draw us closer to Jesus Christ. This gave me some comfort and perspective this week..(:
Love you all so much!!
