πππ΅ 6/15/20
Hello everyone!
I'm coming up on the end of p-day so I'll keep this somewhat short and sweet(:
This week was full of miracles. We taught 24 lessons this week and had 6 special church lessons yesterday (which go for church attendance during quarantine). Mentally it was a very long week, but looking back it is just incredible how much God lifted me through each day. I have kept a gratitude journal since being inside and it has been amazing to see how no matter how hard or how long the day, there is never a shortage of blessings.
Spiritual thought for the week:
I have been reading Jesus the Christ by James Talmage and oh boy is that a READ! (Highly recommend, seriously.) I have loved truly getting to know my Savior from this book. Something very specific stuck out to me this week which comes from the story of the Samaritan woman at the well. Most should know the story but the basic premise is this woman talked with Christ and was taught by Him at this well. When she truly recognized Him as the Christ she left to the city to preach to others and invite them to come and see. As she does this a group runs to meet their Savior and as quoted in John 4:42 they said to the woman "Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world."
I have read this story many times, but read it again with the missionary purpose in mind. If you don't know it, our purpose is to "Invite others to come unto Christ...". We cannot invite until we ourselves have come unto Him. This woman tarried with our Savior and was ministered to by Him. She gained her witness and once she did, she went and invited all others to come unto Christ. Many came first because of her witness and testimony, but once they themselves tarried with Christ and was ministered to by Him then they knew for themselves. What an example this is of missionary work! Tarry with Christ in the scriptures. Allow Him to minister to you. Hear him, then invite others to Him. I love you guys!!
