1 year and daily texts😊 8/31/20

Hey everyone!

Sorry for missing writing a weekly last week but hey I hit my year mark! Whoop whoop!, This week though we have had an awesome week ! 

                                               
We had zone conference on Friday which was super fun considering we don't get to see our Mission President very often. They talked a ton about setting goals and working with members. I love so much talking about working with members. Part of our missionary purpose is to invite others to Christ, that includes members. Having the perspective that members don't need messages and invitations as well is like saying missionaries don't need personal study every day and let me tell you I NEED personal study.(: 
This week will be super exciting. Sister Miner and I have a leadership meeting in the valley so we'll be road tripping to Tempe on Tuesday and Wednesday! Thursday we have exchanges so I'll have updates on that next week, then a normal weekend.(: 






Miracle of the week which ties into my spiritual thought. We had someone named Jessica who the Elders had been teaching but hadn't been able to get in contact with. She was going through a ton of family situations and wouldn't respond to anything but text. Generally when you cant progress with someone they counsel you to drop the person for the time and try to reconnect a little later, but Sister Larson and I originally felt prompted not to drop her. Instead, for the last 9 weeks we have sent her a scripture or a quote every night. Not sure why, but we just followed what we felt inspired to do. Well all of a sudden this week things settled and she immediately asked to meet us and set up times for lessons. Were going to start sharing messages with her and her 5 kids and after 9 weeks of daily scriptures we have a whole family to teach. It truly is the small and simple things! Even if you don't totally understand it, just follow the spirit. God knows what He's doing, trust Him.😊

Hello friends and family! It has been such an amazing week full of crazy stories and cool experiences. I definitely can't share them all because this email would be WAY too long but here are a few! We had zone conference this week and they talked all about how important it is to remember your purpose. Teach off your purpose. Don't become stagnant. And to learn how to stand independent. It was such a good refresher and boost for the start of the week. Wednesday we had exchanges so I was out with the Hermanas in Guadalupe all day! I realized very quickly my 5 years of Spanish I understood 60-70% of everything that was said that day but could do little communicating back. So I learned how to pray in Spanish and have started to read the Book of Mormon in Spanish! I've also already memorized the missionary purpose and first vision. Also may have emailed President how much I loved learning and teaching in Spanish... so we will see where that goes!  Si...

1st Email from the MTC - 8/27/19

Hello Friends and Family! What a crazy ride it has already been! The MTC is honestly heaven. It is crazy, busy, exciting, and unpredictable. The days are so long but are filled with learning so much about teaching and building our testimonies of Jesus Christ. I can't even express how much my testimony has already grown. The spirit here is indescribable. You really can't help but feel it in every lesson, workshop, and just walking the grounds.  My companion is Sister Wright and she is just AMAZING. We get along so well. She is from Pocatello, Idaho and is going to be serving in Edmonton, Canada! It's crazy how our district is set up. All six Elders are serving in Seattle, 4 sisters are in Detroit, 3 of us are heading to Tempe, and Sister Wright to Canada. But today after our temple visit we found 6 more sisters serving with her so she knows who she'll be heading into the mission field with.
