Last one here we GO🏃♀️ 1/25/21
Hey everyone!!
Holy cow how the heck did time fly so fast? I'm in my LAST TRANSFER... Time is so weird. Transfer calls happened and quite a bit changed! Not in terms of my companions we are all staying together! So excited about that! But I got released as a Sister training leader which is actually really nice to not be one my last transfer, and we are changing apartments! But.. said apartment is currently an Elders apartment, so prayers this week would be appreciated as we have to deep clean the apartment.🥵
This week was honestly really long, we spent a ton of time at the mission office doing projects and helping out the office couples. Outside of that I learned how to play a couple songs on the cello (for those who don't know I have DREAMED of playing the cello and so it was a major highlight to get to play one for the first time) and I held the snake AGAIN! Way easier this time, ever so slightly overcoming my fear. Other than that we just had some awesome meetings with members, made some huge progress on our social media efforts, and saw miracles. Safe to say it was a solid week.😊
If y'all haven't read/heard this BYUI devotional... y'all NEED TO. It's called 'The Gift of Pain' by Brother Higgins. Oh my gosh it was so good !!
The basic premise is that pain is important, it sends a message to tell you something and throughout the talk he explains some of those messages. But essentially he teaches there is a purpose in pain to grow, understand, and learn. Whether its physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual pain can motivate us, refine us, turn us towards God, humble us, soften us, and connect us with others who understand the pain we feel. But ultimately, pain is a crossroad. What do we do when we are in pain? How do we react? Well first, we need to figure out what our pain is trying to tell us, what is the purpose. Then, we need to have hope this it will pass. We are built as humans to heal, it has been promised that it will pass, have hope in that! Finally, figure out what your trial is about. What is the cause? Once that is figured out, real healing can set in. None of this means pain is easy, but understanding the why helps the process in our being refined by the trials of life.
All of us have felt pain. Life is hard, holy cow it can be rough. But what is the purpose? As in my email last week, we can come to know God in our pain, our extremities. Even if you cant see the purpose now, seek God through it, I promise He is there!!
Love you guys!!
