Keeping An Eternal Perspective - 2/10/20
Hi everyone!
What an AWESOME week! We saw SO many miracles. One being that Nathan and Natalie were baptized!! It was such a crazy week planning it all out but wow was it worth it. Getting to see them baptized was so exciting and humbling. Natalie said she felt so warm after coming out of the water.😊 We have a few great people we are teaching that are progressing a ton so definitely hoping for more baptisms in the near future!
Sister Miner and I had a really cool experience this week. Tuesday we were putting some contacts in that we felt we needed to go by. A person came to our minds and we decided to put her in for the day. She is a less active member with a non member family. The missionaries had been working with her a few times but I had never met her. We continue along with our day and when the time comes headed to her house. We knocked the door and she opened it looking completely distressed. Her whole face was puffy, her eyes were red and someone was with her holding her up. She seemed really out of it but was really happy to see us. She said we could come in but the person with her seemed hesitant. We stopped and the member looked at us and told us they just got back from the hospital 30 minutes earlier, her husband collapsed the night before and passed away completely unexpectedly. We hugged her for a while and gave her the info for the Bishop and relief society so we could start working out funeral arrangements. She has been doing a lot better over the last few days.
Life is so short. We really truly never know what is going to happen. We are so grateful Heavenly Father prompted us to be there that day, but we both found ourselves crying that night just contemplating the reality of what happened. I decided to read a letter than my Mom sent me over Christmas that was titled "Open when you want an Eternal Perspective." Here is part of it.
"I recognize that hard things still happen, and God allows us and our family members to go through difficult, heart-wrenching trials... but I'm reminded that God has a different perspective than I do. He can see what trials and blessings will give me and my family the best shot at making it home to Him. And I trust Him."
This is what it ultimately comes down to. Trust God. Trust is a difficult thing, but He knows SO much more than we do. Jesus Christ knows what we go through now and what we ever will go through, He has already been through it... "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." Jesus Christ has overcome the world. Trust Him! He will lead you, He will support you, He will lift you up, He will bring you peace.
I love each one of you so much! Have an AMAZING week!

Some baptism pictures, Sister Miner and I, and a cool panorama that somehow worked for me to get in on both sides!
