Give It Your All - 11/25/19
Hello friends and family!!
What a crazy, amazing, insane, full, wonderful week! Most definitely the busiest week of my mission so far. But so much fun at the same time!
We had #LightTheWorld training for the giving machines in Gilbert. I am SO excited to be a part of them this year!! Just in Gilbert they raised almost $900,000 last year with only 2 machines here and this year we have 4! Such an inspired thing to do for the Holidays.
We had a mission tour with Elder Kyle McKay and it was incredible. He is such a powerful teacher and so personable. I sat in the front row so I actually got to have a few conversations just with him which was awesome. He answered so many questions I had and ones I didn't even know I had. He taught how we can teach with power and authority and the spirit of prophecy and revelation. He knows the scriptures inside and out and commands the attention of the room in the most loving and effective way. Suddenly the 6 hour training flew by and we had to leave which was a bummer but I felt so blessed to be able to learn from him.
We did have our missionary choir concert this weekend and ended up having 31 of just our people come one night (all a mix of people we are teaching, less active members, and members of the ward). It was insane! The spirit was so strong it was impossible to not be overwhelmed with emotion as we (the missionaries) sang Armies or Helaman at the end. Such a powerful moment.
We taught relief society on Sunday about how we can all do missionary work despite our circumstances. We went through President Oaks' "foolproof" 3 steps we can all do to spread the gospel being 1- Pray for a desire, 2- Keep the Commandments, 3- Pray for inspiration and commit to act. We went through how important personal conversion is and how we need to each pray to understand how we can assist in the gathering of Israel. We will each do missionary work differently. In a talk by Sister Franco, she talks about the widows mite and how important it is to give our all in our own ways. She says,
" Perhaps she gave less than others, more quietly than others, differently than others. In the eyes of some, what she gave was insignificant, but in the eyes of the Savior, the “discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart,” she gave her all."
We will all do missionary work differently. Perhaps we are very vocal, or perhaps were more quiet. And maybe what we give may seem insignificant, but we can give our all whatever that may be. Whatever it is, know one thing. YOU ARE ENOUGH. What you give is ENOUGH. The Savior knows your thoughts and intents and He will make up for what we lack. He is the author and finisher of our faith. He is the beginning and the end in every aspect of our life. You are enough.
I love you all so much! Happy Thanksgiving!🍂🍁🦃
A ton of pictures from the week! Giving machines, rainstorms, zone conference, and more!
